Accommodating your insurance needs while protecting your personal information is of utmost importance to us. We want you to know the steps we take to protect the information we collect and, in some cases, disclose it when authorized by law.

PURPOSE OF THIS NOTICE

Title V of the Gramm-Leach-Bailey Act (GLBA) and the laws of the State of Florida generally prohibit us from sharing nonpublic personal information about you with a third party unless we provide you with this notice of our privacy policies and practices describing the type of information that we collect about you and the categories of persons or entities to whom that information may be disclosed. In compliance with the GLBA and the laws of this state, we are providing you with this document, which notifies you of the privacy policies and practices of Wexler Insurance Agency, Inc.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

To secure insurance products for you, your family or business we collect information necessary to underwrite and provide accurate insurance rates, to maintain and improve customer service and facilitate claims handling.

A. Categories of Information Collected and Sources From Which We Collect It

We collect nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:

• Information we receive from you on applications or other forms.
• Information about your transactions with us.
• Information that we receive about you from our affiliates, or others.
• Information regarding your driving history, including past traffic tickets and accidents.
• Information obtained online, at trade shows or through a referral from other customers.

Unless it is specifically stated otherwise in an amended Privacy Policy Notice, no additional information will be collected about you.

B. Persons From Whom Information is Collected

We may collect nonpublic personal information from individuals other than those seeking or being offered coverage.

INFORMATION WE MAY DISCLOSE TO THIRD PARTIES:

We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information about our customers or former customers, except as permitted by law.   That means we may make disclosures to the following types of third parties, if necessary, without your consent:

• Property and Casualty Insurance Companies or Certain Underwriters at Lloyd's of London for a variety of reasons including, but not limited to, securing a quote for coverage;
• Independent claims adjusters, surveyors, appraisers, investigators and medical professionals for any reason in conjunction with a policy being quoted or issued to you, and attorneys who need the information to investigate, defend, or settle any claim or legal matter involving you;
• Consumer reporting agencies as reasonably necessary in connection with any application, policy, or claim involving you;
• Insurance regulatory agencies in connection with the regulation of our business;
• Law enforcement or other governmental authorities to protect our legal interests or in case of suspected fraud or illegal actives;
• Certificate holders or policyholders for the purpose of providing information regarding the status of an insurance transaction; or
• Lienholder, mortgagees, lessors, or other persons shown on our records as having a legal or beneficial interest in your policy.

 

RESERVATION OF RIGHTS TO DISCLOSE INFORMATION IN UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES:

In connection with the potential sale or transfer of its interests, Wexler Insurance Agency, Inc. reserves the right to sell or transfer your information (including but not limited to your address, name, age, sex, zip code, state and country of residency and other information that you provide through other communications) to a third party entity that (1) concentrates it business in a similar practice or service; (2) agrees to be Wexler Insurance Agency's successor in interests with regard to the maintenance and protection of the information collected; and (3) agrees to the obligations of this privacy statement.

INFORMATION SECURITY:

Only those employees who need it to perform their job responsibilities are authorized to have access to your information. In addition, we maintain physical, electronic and procedural security measures that comply with federal regulations and state regulations to safeguard your information.

RIGHT TO AMEND PRIVACY NOTICE AND PRIVACY POLICY:

We reserve the right to amend, modify or change at any time and for any reason, our privacy policies and this Privacy Notice. In any such event, we will provide an amended Privacy Notice to you.
